With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life and legacy of Angela Anita Bennett, who passed away on March 7, 2025, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital, surrounded by love, with her devoted daughter by her side. Born on June 24, 1962, in Cleveland, Ohio, Angela was the beloved daughter of the late James and Ora Lee (Calhoun) Bennett.
Angela dedicated over 30 years of her life to the nursing profession, embodying compassion, strength, and care for those in need. Her career was more than a job; it was a calling—a testament to her kind and giving nature. She touched countless lives through her work, offering comfort and healing with a heart full of warmth.
Beyond her career, Angela had a passion for the finer things in life. She had a deep love for cars, a fascination with new homes, and a keen eye for fashion. She was always ahead of the trends, staying informed on current events, and could often be found flipping through the pages of Architectural Digest, dreaming of beautiful designs and elegant spaces. The beach was her sanctuary—a place where she found peace and joy in the soothing rhythm of the waves.
Angela’s greatest pride and joy was her daughter, Ashley Bennett of Cleveland, Ohio, who carries forward her mother’s strength, kindness, and love. She also leaves behind a loving family, including her siblings: Carol (Tim) Collins, Bessie Bennett, Erias (Sheila) Bennett, and Michael Bennett, all of Cleveland, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents and her dear sister, Gracie.
Angela’s presence was a light in the lives of those who knew her. Her laughter, wisdom, and unwavering love will be forever cherished. Though we mourn her passing, we find comfort in the memories she has left behind and the love that will never fade.
A graveside service to honor Angela’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale. Walker Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Angela’s journey on this earth may have ended, but her spirit remains in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Never forgotten.
