E. R. “Zeb” Carman, 78, passed away peacefully Monday February 18, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Zeb was born September 17, 1940, in Carbondale the son of the late Dr. E. R. and Elsa L. (Friday) Carman.
Zeb loved the outdoors, animals, fishing, but his greatest love was for wood. Zeb could take a scrap of wood and make something beautiful from it. He was considered a Master Carpenter for over 50 years. He did everything from renovations to building homes.
He was a lifelong member of the Carbondale Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his greatest love of 25 years Wilma Davis of Carbondale daughter; Debbie (Kevin) Bach of Ava, Il; grandchildren; Jeaniffer (Chris) Tanner of Harveyville, KS; Cole Alan Rieckenberg of Ava, IL; Erin Carman-Sweeney of Bloomington, IN; sisters; Susan Bowers of Fairbury, NE; Carol (Charles) Heidbrink of Odell NE; nieces and nephews; Dave (Connie) Heidbrink of Beatrice, NE; Mark (Lisa) Heidbrink of Lincoln, NE
Zeb was preceded in death by his parents; Dr. E. R. and Elsa Carman; daughter Julie Carman who passed away in October 2016; grandchild Courtney Dawn Rieckenberg who passed away in 2005.
A Celebration of life will be held this Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 1-3 at Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Carbondale.
