Homer Parker, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Wednesday February 5, 2020 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
Homer was born April 12, 1935 in Cottontown, Tennessee the son of the late James Parker and Rachel (Creekmore) Fann.
He married Betty (Martin) Howard on December 30, 1965 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They shared over 54 years of marriage.
Homer is survived by his wife Betty Parker of Hurst; children David (Barbara) Parker, Mary (Joe) Gordon, Anna (Nort) Epley, Betty (Tom) Robison, Nancy (Dennis) Juvers. Siblings; Bessie Mann, John (Jean) Fann, Jimmy (Phyllis) Fann, Beverly (JD) McClure, Jackie (Jeff) Harvey, Victor (Kathy) Fann, Priscilla Jones, Connie Macke and ten grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents James Parker and Rachel Fann, stepfather Archie Fann, siblings Lois “Lovie” Gholson, Bill Parker, James Parker and Vernon Fann.
Services will be Tuesday February 11, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home of Hurst with Pastor Greg Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
