JOYCE ANN MYERS ~ Carbondale August 27, 2018

Joyce Ann Myers, 80, passed away peacefully Monday, August 27, 2018 at Prairie Living at Chautauqua after a battle with cancer.

Mrs. Myers was born November 8, 1937 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to Forrest Aubrey Robinson and Marguerite Reynolds. She moved to Elkins, West Virginia as a child and was a drummer on her high school marching band. She attended Davis & Elkins College and was a member of Phi Mu Sorority and the D & E Women’s basketball team, graduating in 1959 with a degree in Education. She taught high school English. On January 24th, 1960, she married Charles C. Myers. The couple embarked on a lifelong journey around the globe, before settling in 1973, to Carbondale, Illinois.

Mrs. Myers was an athlete, musician, college graduate, English teacher, but most importantly a mom. She raised three sons and was known for her generosity, devotion, love of pets and people. She could be seen walking every day with her dogs Bailey and Seymour around Campus Lake, greeting everyone with a big smile. The immense pain we feel today is overshadowed by the joy knowing she is reunited with her late husband and her precious dogs. Mrs. Myers is survived by sons Charles F. Myers (Lee) Christopher R. Myers (Annie) and Michael J. Myers (Gyla) and four grandchildren, David Myers, Brooke North, Lauren Myers, and Lola Myers.

Its like you read my mind! You seem to know a lot about this,
like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with a few pics to drive the
message home a bit, but instead of that, this is great blog.
A fantastic read. I will certainly be back.
