Linda Lou DuPrey, 72, of Royalton, passed away on July 15, 2020 at home. She was born on January 22, 1948 to Armand and Francis Jane (McNeill) Parola in Harrisburg, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, her ex-husband Kenneth DuPrey, her son Tony, and her grandson Austin.
Linda grew up in Herrin, Illinois. She attended Chittyville School and Herrin High School where she was a cheerleader. She worked at a dry-cleaning store in Herrin, but her passion was helping people. She worked at Colonial Manor in Ziegler and then started working for Home Health agencies. She retired 12 years ago. She also loved doing puzzles and crosswords. She loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
She is survived by: two daughters, Barbara DuPrey (Randy Flood) of Royalton and Ronda Lyell-Eubanks (Scott) of Benton; three sons, Charles Brooks Lyell of Ziegler, David Lyell of Herrin, and Ron Junge; one sister Vicki Devor (Robert) of Indiana; Virgil Parola of Springfield; John Parola (Saranya) of Bangkok, Thailand; 19 grandkids and 18 great grandkids; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend Bennie Kalert. Special thanks to her caregiver Cheryl Welch and to Residential Hospice.
It was Mrs. DuPrey’s wishes to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
