DESOTO — Mary Lou (Tripp) Jones, 87, died at 12:50 p.m. Thursday, Oct. in Carbondale Rehab and Nursing Center.
Mary Lou was born Aug. 11, 1927, in Hallidayboro, to Earl and Allene (Stearns) Tripp.
She married Albert Don Jones November 1953, and he died May 3, 1999.
Mary worked as a beautician for many years, also ran a fish camp and a trailer park in Florida. She loved to be outdoors and loved her flowers. She will be missed.
Survivors include her sons Gary “Mick” (wife Dianne) Jones and Norman “Butch” Jones of De Soto; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ardell Tripp of Hurst; sister, Halena Bravo of Chicago Heights; brother, Dinah Jones of Mulkeytown; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; daughter-in-law, Lonnie; grandson, Michael Shane; sister, Priscilla Holt; and brother Raymond Trip.
Services will be at noon Monday, Nov. 3, in Murdale Gardens of Memory in Murphysboro. Burial will be in Murdale Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Walker Funeral Home and Crematory of Carbondale is in charge of arrangements.
