Jackie Lee Childers, 72, passed away on October 24, 2021 at 11:12 pm at home with his family. He was the husband of Jane (Paluch) Childers. They shared 45 years together.
Born at Holden Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois, he was the son of Basil and Lena (Littlejohn) Childers.
He is survived by his wife, Jane (Paluch) Childers, and his children, Jason Childers (Nancy Ellis), Jillian Childers (Jason Rose), and Jeana Childers. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Madison Childers and Lena Rose; and his brother, Gary Childers (Richadene Lence). He was preceded in death by his parents and son, John Wright.
He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. Jackie was a hell of a rhythm guitar player, and he’d break into song when the music was really rocking-even though he claimed he wasn’t a singer.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Southern Illinois entrusted with arrangements.
