Condolences

Kevin Lee Barnes, 58, passed away peacefully Friday December 3, 2021, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Kevin was born January 17, 1963, in Herrin, Illinois, the son of Jerry Lynn and Ophelia May (McNeal) Barnes.

He is survived by his parents Jerry and Ophelia; sisters Pam Perry and Mark Burford, Dena Sledge; sister-in-law Charlene “Honeycutt” Barnes; brothers; Jason and Lesley Barnes and Lance and Carla Barnes; aunts Pat and Roger Potock; Carol and Jim Book; Aleene McNeal; cousins, nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Kevin is preceded in death by his grandparents, Archie and Marie McNeal and Orval and Rosalie Barnes, and brother Wesley Barnes, uncles Donald, Charles, and Carl McNeal.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Walker Funeral Home of Carbondale entrusted with arrangements.

Aunt Ophelia, Uncle Jerry & Pam,

There simply are no adequate words when losing a child or a sibling. The heartbreaking loss becomes a missing link to your Family Tree and most painful. Sadly, I can relate to such a deep loss of our infant daughter, Gina Marie.
Please accept my sincere warm words of comfort, many prayers and love. May GOD GUIDE you through yet another painful Journey. May your hearts be comforted that both of your Angel Sons are now reunited in The Loving Care of GOD.
