It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of John E. Terpinitz of Carbondale, on Tuesday September 6, 2022, at the age of 81.
John was born October 22, 1940 in Carbondale, Illinois the son of the late Bert E. and Margaret (Rushing) Terpinitz.
John worked at Southern Illinois University Housing for over 28 years till he retired. He was also a member of Murdale Baptist Church where he enjoyed being a referee for the Youth Upward Basketball Program. He was known for being an avid armchair coach/referee for any football, basketball, and baseball game.
He married Donna Wise on March 12, 1966 in Springfield, Illinois. They have shared over 56 years of marriage.
John is survived by his wife Donna Terpinitz of Carbondale; daughter Mary E. Terpinitz of Carbondale and granddaughter Lauren E. Terpinitz of Jacksonville, Florida.
He is preceded in death by his parents Bert and Margaret Terpinitz.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
Walker Funeral Home of Carbondale entrusted with arrangements.
