Don Allen Bryant Jr., age 65, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 4, 2024, peacefully at home with his family by his side.
Don was born March 30, 1958, in Carbondale, Il. to Don Allen Bryant Sr. and Sue Smysor-Bryant.
Don was a respected, successful and hardworking businessman in Carbondale, operating and owning a rental property business catering to college students and young professionals. Don was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and loyal son, brother, and friend. He enjoyed spending his free time with family and friends, golfing, boating, camping, and volunteering his time at church and many past years of service at Trinity Christin School.
Don is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Donna McClusky-Bryant of Carbondale; children Heather G. (husband Brooks) Campbell of Herrin, Don Allen Bryant III of Carbondale, and Maggie Elizabeth Bryant of Carbondale; granddaughter Emma Grace Campbell of Herrin; mother Sue Smysor Bryant of Carbondale; brother Joseph (wife Sally Stotlar) Bryant of Carbondale; nephews Joseph Patrick (JP) Bryant of St. Louis, John Thomas (Jack) Bryant of Carbondale; niece Samantha A. Bryant (husband Ryan) Conrad of Champaign; great niece Elena S. Conrad of Champaign; aunts Cheryl Bryant of Carbondale, and Nola Bryant of Florida.
Don was preceded in death by his father Don Allen Bryant Sr.; grandparents Tracy Leland Sr. and Nella Bryant, and Lawrence W. Smysor and Bernice Moore-Smysor; uncles Dr. Tracy Leland Bryant and Paul Bryant; aunts Helen Halliday, Marsha Bryant, and Covey Bryant; cousins Tracy L. Bryant III, Richard A. Bryant, and Michael David Bryant.
A public visitation will be held at Walker Funeral Home on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 5 to 7pm. The family will be holding a private service and burial.
