It is with much sadness that we mourn the loss of Roger Hill, of Carterville, formerly of Bourbonnais, IL, who passed away Wednesday May 15th, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Roger was born on September 16, 1950, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, the son of the late Lee and Velma (Gilmore) Hill.
He is survived by his daughter Sayword Hill; son-in-law, Paul Edwards; grandchildren; Mercedees, Deion and Bryson Edwards; sister; Sharon Lagacy; nephews; Eric Lagacy and Adam (Laura) Lagacy; great niece and nephew Kalyee and Brandon, cousins; Russ and Gary Parmley, and many other loving family and friends including Victoria Sellers.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; Lee and Velma Hill; brother; Gerald Lagacy; nephew Bryan Lagacy.
He was a graduate of BBCHS in 1968 and held a MS degree in Applied Health Science- Psychology. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and the great outdoors along with grilling & cooking. He took pleasure in watching his grandchildren’s sporting and theatre events. He built great relationships through the years with “the girls” at a medical facility forming strong bonds of mutual respect and admiration. His impact was felt by many and he will be missed.
