Amber Ann Augustine-McMurtry, aged 45, of Carbondale, passed away at 2:30 a.m. on March 12, 2024, in Carbondale, IL. Born in Pekin, Illinois, she was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Rosenberger, and father, David W. Augustine. Amber is survived by her daughter, Jessica Alexander, and Mark Riddle; her grandson, Bryar Dale Alexander; her sister, Zena Rosenberger; nieces, Lacy Lynn Rask and Deztny Moffett; and her beloved parents who raised her, Joe and Beverly Rosenberger, along with many cousins. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home of Carbondale, IL.

Amber’s radiant soul captivated all who knew her with her brilliance, vibrant spirit, and infectious sense of humor. Her beauty, inside and out, illuminated every room she entered, leaving a lasting impression on all fortunate enough to cross her path. With an intellect as sharp as her wit, Amber’s love for literature, poetry, and music knew no bounds, as she found solace and inspiration within the pages of countless books, songs and the verses of her own creation. A free spirit at heart, Amber never tethered herself to one place, preferring to wander where the wind took her, embracing life’s adventures with open arms. Now, as she takes flight with wings unfurled, her boundless spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us all. Though she may be gone from our sight, Amber’s memory will forever dance in our hearts, a beacon of love, laughter, and light. May she rest in eternal peace, her spirit forever soaring among the stars.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home of Carbondale, IL.
