It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Sue Parrish, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of our community, on January 1, 2025 at her residence with her family by her side.
Born on November 28, 1935, Barbara spent her life devoted to her family, her work, and the people around her. She was married to the love of her life, Johne Randall “JR” Parrish for 53 beautiful years until his passing, and together they built a legacy of love, faith, and togetherness that will forever inspire those who knew them.
As a devoted mother and doting grandmother, Barbara found her greatest joy in her family. She was the heart of every gathering, sharing her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support. Her gentle spirit and generous heart touched everyone she met.
For more than 60 years, Barbara served her community through her work in real estate. Her dedication, professionalism, and genuine care for her clients turned transactions into lifelong relationships. She helped countless families find the perfect place to call home and was a trusted advisor and friend to many. Barbara and her husband John in 1964 opened up JRP Realty and Insurance, and she continued to work for Century 21 Preferred Realty then went on to work for Century House of Realty up till her passing.
She is survived by her daughter Sherri and son in law Jerri Nance; grandchildren; Cierra (Daniel Kohnle) Nance; Billy and wife Angel Nance; John Randall Nance; Alli Friedline; Paula Fiegenbaum and family; great grandchildren; Elijah Gilliam; JT Nance; Tate Wiggins; Trace Wiggins, who will carry forward her legacy of love and devotion.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Randall “JR” Parrish; son; Michael Friedline; grandson; Brad Friedline.
She will be remembered as a cornerstone of her family and community, a woman of integrity and compassion who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
Graveside services will be held on January 3, 2025, at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m with Karen Knodt officiating.

Her memory will live on in the laughter of her grandchildren, the homes she helped create, and the love she cultivated throughout her extraordinary life. Rest in peace, Barbara knowing that you were deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
