Beverly Joyce Povolish (Slater), 60 died Monday May 13, 2019 from a long battle with breast cancer.
Beverly was born December 9th 1958 in Highland Illinois, the Daughter of Walter James and Eva Mae (Parker) Slater. Beverly graduated from Pinckneyville high school in IL in 1976. She got a job working at Kroger and met her husband Thomas Raymond Povolish along the way. They were married on December 22nd 1979 at a Catholic Church in Ava Illinois. Together they shared 39 years of marriage. They had three children together. Beverly loved to read. Her favorite author was Stephan King. She also loved arts and crafts and doing puzzles. She had a passion for animals. She loved caring for her dog Chico. In the spring and summer she loved planting a beautiful flower garden with all kinds of flowers.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Raymond Povolish; her children Elizabeth, Justin, and Zachary; sister Verna Briscoe; two brothers Gilbert and Albert; nieces Janet Slater and Cindy Briscoe and her nephews David Slater and Jason Briscoe.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Eva Slater of Creal Springs; baby brother Danny Slater.
Celebration of Beverly’s life will be Thursday May 16th, 2019. Visitation is from 11 – 12. Funeral service at noon followed by the interment at Creal Springs cemetery.
