Curtis “Curt” Ray Hawkins ~ Carbondale
CARBONDALE — Curtis “Curt” Ray Hawkins, 83, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, in Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale, with the Rev. Sidney Logwood Officiating.
Curt was born Sept. 20, 1935, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, the son of the late Irving and Mildred (Hathaway) Hawkins.
Curt was the manager for Singer Sewing Machine before becoming an agent with Colonial Life and Accident Company where he worked for more than 50 years.
He was married to Norma Jean Hodge on Feb. 6, 1954, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, until her passing Oct. 25, 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Hawkins; two sons, Keith and wife, Tami, Hawkins of Cody, Wyoming, Douglas Hawkins of Chicago; daughter, Lisa Hawkins of Carbondale; grandchildren, Stephanie and Cody Hess of Cody, Wyoming, Justin and Nikki (Meyers) of New Iberia, Louisiana; grandchildren, Raeli Jean, Drake and Kiley Hawkins, all of New Iberia, Louisiana; stepchildren, Tamara Peldo, Chad Newberry, Lee Newberry; and many other step grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ralph Glenn of Carbondale; and many more relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Mildred Hawkins; sister, Dorothy; and brother, Wilfred.
