CARBONDALE— George L. Johnson, died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at his residence.
He was born in Williamson County to Charlie and Zula Z. (Spears) Johnson.
He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include two daughters, Georgia Jackson and Rhonda and husband Wilson Hughey, all of Carbondale; son, Randall and wife Sandy of Carbondale; granddaughters, Lora Jackson of Carbondale and Kyle and wife Nina Hughey, Kelly Snyder and husband Jason Stearns and Marshall and wife Andrea Snyder, all of De Soto; sister, Barbara Finney; brother-in-law, Eldon Brooks; and great-grandchildren, Savannah Hughey, Audrey Snyder, Samuel Snyder, Storme Snyder and Lily Frantz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Zula Johnson; brothers, Walter Johnson, Norman (Bud) Johnson and Homer Johnson; and sisters, Pauline Johnson, Martha Lipe Batson and Mary Brooks.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, in Huffman-Harker-Walker Funeral Home, 210 W. Oak St., in Carbondale with Tommy Monroe officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the funeral home.
