Louis Scott Pike ~ Carbondale January 3, 1949 - December 6, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Scott Pike, a beloved husband, devoted friend, and a passionate outdoorsman. Scott departed this life on December 6, 2024 at the age of 75 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Scott was born on January 3, 1949 in Herrin, Illinois, the son of the late Charles Jack and Pauline (Smith) Pike.

He married Judith Lynn Andrea on December 30, 1984, they shared over 40 years of marriage.

An electrician by trade, he spent over 30 years as an SIU employee serving in several capacities. He earned his B.S. degree being a proud Saluki, an Army veteran, a blue-ribbon cook, and an avid outdoorsman. He shared a passion for golf. Scott was a Baptist saved by grace in his youth. We rejoice in his homecoming.

Scott leaves his loving wife Judith Pike; children; Cody Jack Pike, Jamie Pike; grandson; Gavin Stevens; his children of the heart; Vickie Ellet; Kevin Mezo; Victoria Cripps; Mike Floyd; Sung – Ho Kim; Charles Bradfield; and his best friends; Frank Columbo and Jan Nielson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Pauline Pike.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to: Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-851 or SIH Cancer Institute 1400 Pin Oak Dr, Carterville, IL 62918.

A private family Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Southern Illinois is entrusted with arrangements.
