MURPHYSBORO — Tracy L. Bryant III, 66, passed away peacefully at his residence Friday, Feb. 8, 2019. surrounded by loving family.
Tracy L. Bryant was born Aug. 29, 1952, in Camp Cooke, California, the son of the late Tracy L. and Louise (Ouroussoff) Bryant.
He married Donna (Abangan) on Aug. 31, 1996, at Bald Knob Cross in Alto Pass. They shared over 22 years of marriage.
Tracy attended Southern Illinois University where he received a BA in Physiology. After school, he joined the Army where he served his time in Vietnam era. Tracy then went on to serve the Army Illinois National Guard for 26 years. Tracy was a member of the faculty and staff of the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine for over 36 years as a teaching assistant.
Tracy loved being outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting. He was a member of Duck’s Unlimited, Carbondale Eagles and Elks.
He is survived by his loving wife Donna Bryant; sons; Alexander; Vincent (Amanda) and Andrew (Tara) Ehrhardt; one grandson; Ryker Ehrhardt; sister Gwen (Mike) Lazowski; brother Richard Bryant; niece; Sara Lazowski; nephews; Ben Lazowski; Ricky and Drake Bryant and many other loving family and friends.
Tracy was preceded in death by his stepmother Marsha Bryant; parents Tracy L. Bryant II and Louise Bryant.
Visitation will be Saturday Feb. 16, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Carbondale. Services will start at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jacob Swain officiating. A Celebration of life will be immediately following at the Carbondale Eagles.
