Carbondale ~ William Michael Deutsch, 25, of Carbondale passed away at 9 pm on March 30th, 2019 in a truck versus pedestrian crash on Dogwood Road not far from his home. He had been walking his dog who also perished in the accidents.
Michael was born on November 9th, 1993, in Carbondale, Illinois to William Jacob Deutsch and Katherine Louise Deutsch.
Michael was a sweet caring person who was able to help people smile. He participated in the Cub Scout and Boy Scout programs and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Michael was a recent graduate in May 2018 of John A. Logan College in Carterville, Illinois. He obtained an Associate’s degree in Computer Information Systems. While at John A. Logan College he received two awards from the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Michael worked in retail as a cell phone salesman based in Carbondale and Murphysboro Walmart.
Michael was proud of being a “computer geek”. In his spare time, he loved to play computer games. He was also a dedicated reader of books and enjoyed nature and hiking in the woods. But most of all Michael was happiest when spending time with his family and his dog.
